Rock a bye baby on the treetop,
When the wind blows the cradle will rock,
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.
This is the lullaby nini always sings to me before i sleep... When the wind blows the cradle will rock,
When the bough breaks the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.
But today, my friend, whom i call Potato Chin,
told me that the baby died in the end
as the cradle fell down...
Suddenly i felt so down coz i just realized this lullaby was a sad one.
Sigh...
I asked nini did the baby really die.
He didn't answer me.
But he was actually searching the history behind this lullaby...
My first response was,
omg u are so great sobsob!
This lullaby was actually extracted from a poem.
Here the other 2 parts of the poem.
The baby is drowsing cozy and fair,
Mother sits near in her rocking chair,
Forward and back the cradle she swings,
And though baby sleeps he hears what she sings.
From the high rooftops down to the sea,
No ones' as dear as baby to me,
Wee little fingers, eyes wide and bright,
Now sound asleep until morning light.
* Long long time ago, Mother sits near in her rocking chair,
Forward and back the cradle she swings,
And though baby sleeps he hears what she sings.
From the high rooftops down to the sea,
No ones' as dear as baby to me,
Wee little fingers, eyes wide and bright,
Now sound asleep until morning light.
there was a prince,
when he was still a baby,
his mother swung the cradle to make him asleep....
Then, the poet saw this scene and wrote this poem...
lol i am so happy now~~~!
He said this was such a warm lullaby~
So sweet!
My friend was lame =="
Herm!
